With Midhurst Independents’ Day fast approaching on Saturday 4th July we wanted to let you know how supporting local businesses improves your local economy and can give you that feel good factor! So before you head to the nearest chain store or website to shop, think local –
1. For every £1 you spend at a local retailer between 50-70p will circulate back into the local are improving the economy of your town.
2. By supporting local retailers you are helping them prosper and grow, get that feel good factor by helping a fellow local resident develop their business.
3. Local businesses have an invested interest in the local area and often live in the place they do business. By supporting local traders, local traders will in turn support the community and strive to make it better.
4. The personal touch, if you become a regular at a local retailer you can build a rapport with the staff there and your shopping experience will be more personal and enjoyable.
5. Local business owners create more local jobs. By supporting local traders, you’re helping develop employment opportunities for your town.
